Alan Moore
Director of Development, Apex Clean Energy
Alan Moore is the primary contact for Coles Wind. He has more than 15 years of experience working on the ground and in the field with growers, landowners, municipalities, and other private and public entities across the Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, Northeast, and Midwest. Prior to joining Apex, Alan founded and operated a variety of businesses focused on the production, marketing, processing, and distribution of produce, dairy, and grains around the country. He holds a BA in biology and environmental science from the University of Virginia and an MS in environmental studies from the College of Charleston.
Anna Richey
Director of Public Engagement, Apex Clean Energy
Anna Richey is Director of Public Engagement for Apex Clean Energy. Anna’s career has included managing local, state, and federal campaigns, and working in and around government for the better part of two decades. Before joining Apex in 2021, she worked in the nonprofit sector, leading energy policy development in rural Minnesota. This experience solidified a passion for clean energy and how it can contribute to the stability and revitalization of rural areas, particularly. Now, she oversees Apex’s community outreach efforts in Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas and Illinois. When she’s not working, she enjoys fishing Minnesota’s lakes and rivers.
David Reis Raised on his family's fifth generation family farm in rural Southeast Illinois, David brings a diverse and balanced background to serving in Public Engagement with APEX Clean Energy on the Coles Wind project. After graduating with degrees from Lake Land College and the University of Illinois, David went on to manage his family's fifth-generation family farm and serve to 14 years in the Illinois House of Representatives. Through community involvement and partnerships David looks forward to the development of Coles Wind in a rapidly changing energy generation sector.
Adam Carlson
Project Manager, Apex Clean Energy

Adam Carlson grew up in Paxton, IL (Ford County) where his family owned a corn and soybean farm. After studying at the Naval Academy, he commissioned as a Navy nuclear submarine officer in 2012. He is a proud husband and father to two boys and enjoys spending more time with family after his 8 years of service in the military. While working at Dominion Energy power plant, he continued his education at University of Virginia studying Systems Engineering. He currently serves as the Project Manager for Prosperity Wind, making it the 3rd wind project he has worked on in the state of Illinois.
Caroline Johnson
Assistant Project Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Caroline Johnson is an assistant project manager for Apex Clean Energy. She is a graduate of Illinois College and University of Illinois Springfield. Her career in renewables started over five years ago outside of her hometown of Jacksonville, Illinois where Apex built Lincoln Land Wind. Since then, she has worked on several wind and solar projects across Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri.
Wesley Cochran
Construction Site Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Wesley grew up in Kansas City, MO, after High School he joined the Marine Corps and was deployed to Okinawa, Japan and Fallujah, Iraq. After the Military he was a contractor for the Dep. of Homeland Security guarding the Federal buildings in the Kansas City area. He found his calling in Renewables a few years after leaving Homeland Security, beginning on the Maintenance and Services side of Wind turbines contracting services, then he joined GE as an installation technician on the Construction side, this feed his need for learning new technologies within Renewable energy. Wesley moved the through the GE ranks and met the Apex team on a project in Michigan while serving as the Installation Lead, when the project was complete Wesley joined the Apex team on the Ford Ridge Wind Farm as the Mechanical Coordinator.
Kevin McKinzie
Assistant Site Manager, Apex Clean Energy
Kevin McKinzie is an Assistant Site Manager for Apex Clean Energy based at Coles Wind. Kevin’s career in renewable energy started back in 1990 in southern California. He worked as a Site Superintendent for an electrical contractor installing underground collection and wiring turbines for 30 years. Kevin has been with Apex Clean Energy for four years as an electrical coordinator and now an Assistant Site Manager.
